Throwback to 2015, Where Deadline reported that filmmaker Peter Berg would direct the film examining a "young artist at the top of her professional career."

Berg, who gave Rihanna her acting start with a role in Battleship, described the documentary as an “unfiltered look into Rihanna’s life and how she’s ascended to become a global icon.”

We have been waiting for this to come out ever since.

The film was slated for release in 2017, following the creation of Rihanna's 2016 album Anti, but it hit some delays.

Peter Berg spoke with Slash Film giving an update and had nothing but praise for the 'Umbrella' singer.

"I think she’s an extraordinary young woman and it really is kind of a pretty comprehensive profile of what goes in to making her this talent that she is," he said. "The work ethic, the talent, luck, the hustle, the vision."

He also gave an estimation for when we'll finally be able to see the doc- film.

"She’s a really, really interesting woman and the movie will be out in about a month and half, two months we’ll be able to start showing it."
