It has been revealed that Ireland’s most popular day for Netflix was the day that Storm Ophelia arrived on our shores.

Schools and businesses across the country closed for the day and everyone seemed to turn to the small screen.

Throughout the year, Irish viewers were most into crime dramas like 'Ingobernable', 'Marvel’s Icon Fist' and 'Marvel’s The Defenders.'

For a laugh, we opted for comedies like 'You Me Her', 'Asoue' and 'Big Mouth.'

The top 3 shows that Irish people cheated on their significant others the most this year are 'Narcos', '13 Reasons Why' and 'Stranger Things.'

'Orange is the New Black' just missed out on a spot in the top 3.

Many shows brought us together as a family.

'Stranger Things' claimed top spot for the Netflix show that scored top points for family watching, while '13 Reasons Why' and 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' weren’t too far behind.

Internationally, Mexico takes the top spot for having the most members to watch Netflix every single day.

Probably the strangest viewing habit in the world was the fact that one person watched 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl' for 365 days in a row.

One Irish member watched 'Just Go With It' 308 times during 2017.

Finally, the average member of Netflix watched around 60 movies on Netflix this year.
