It's about to get loud(er).

SPIN's Sarina Bellissimo caught up with the stars of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, ahead of the launch of the revival series.

Speaking with Kyla Pratt who voices Penny, Kyla confessed that The Proud Family was her experience with animation.

"I didn’t really like my voice at the time," Kyla said. "I was in middle school when I got sick and it just stayed raspy. You know how you hear your voice back and think 'Is that me? That’s what I sound like?'”

Kyla originally found herself worrying about whether she would be liked or if producers would fire her, but as she grew up, she realised the impact of the show on her life.

"I didn’t realise until I got older, recording the show helped shape me in so many ways and taught me so many things and I brought so much of myself in Penny," Kyla told Sarina.

"I know who I am, nobody can make me feel like I need to do something. I’ve always brought that energy but I didn’t realise playing Penny on The Proud Family helped guide my personality.”

Meanwhile, Sarina asked Jo Marie Payton if there's a part of Suga Mama that she wishes was a part of her own personality but it turns out, there's not.

“I don’t limit myself, not as a person, and I’m glad [the producers] don’t limit her as an animated person. For me, I don’t know if anything that I would want to do that they’re not allowing Sugar Mama to do."

Sarina also caught up with Tommy Davidson and Paula Jai Parker who voiced Penny's parents in the show.

The popular pair were twice voted 'Disney's Favourite Parents,' making them big roles to step back into.

Sharing their excitement to be back, they told Sarina what about what fans constantly yell at Tommy.

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder will be available on Disney+ from February 23rd, 2022.
