Jeremy Kyle has explained why he doesn't talk about the suicide of a guest on his show.

Steve Dymond appeared on The Jeremy Kyle Show  in a bid to prove he hadn't cheated on his fiancée.

After failing a lie detector test on the show, Steve is believed to have told one of the show's researchers "I wish I was dead." He was sent home two hours later in a taxi.

The 63-year-old died by suicide a week after recording the episode which has not been aired.

Channel 4's two-part 'Death on Daytime' documentary looked at claims from former staff about guests being exploited.

Jeremy Kyle has spoken out for the first time since episode aired last weekend, saying that his approach for the past three years has remained "consistent."

"I have said that I will not comment on the tragic death of Steve Dymond until the legal process has finished and that is a position I will maintain," Jeremy said.

"When - and trust me, there will be a time after the inquest, when it is right and proper for me to have my say, because there are of course two sides to every single story."

In the documentary, Steve's ex-fiancée Jane explained how she "felt sorry" for Jeremy because he lost his job. Steve died on May 9th 2019. The Jeremy Kyle Show was pulled off-air on May 13 and cancelled two days later.

"I don't hate Jeremy Kyle and I didn't blame him. I can't put the blame on someone else when I feel partly to blame myself," Jane said.
