A cure for acne could be on the way as a study has revealed a way to block bacteria that damage skin.

Scientists have successfully targeted a type of bacteria, which lives in the skin, and stopped it from producing inflammatory toxins.

The treatment uses the body's own immune system to tackle the bacteria and could help millions of people who suffer from acne.

Clear skin for everyone! 

The Californian researchers are confident that their new vaccine will work, and they plan to do further studies to develop a chemical or vaccine which is safe and effective in humans so they can carry out large clinical trials.

Fingers crossed it's successful and that when it is no one looks bad at our secondary school snaps.
