A new fashion app has just launched in a bid to support independent fashion retailers in Limerick in the wake of Covid-19.

Bezzu, a new free mobile app enables all independent fashion and lifestyle retailers across Ireland, who may not currently have an online shop, to easily connect with and sell to customers online at no cost to them.

The new app, which was initially due to launch in the summer has already seen 15 independent retailers from Limerick opting into the service.

Here's a list of all the Limerick shops you can check out on Bezzu:

  • Dani's Closet & Showroom, 20 Thomas St, Limerick City
  • Ela Maria Boutique, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick
  • Kimono Boutique, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick
  • Life & Soul Boutique, Blackabbey, Thornbury, Co. Limerick
  • O’ Donnells Boutique, 11 Catherine Street, Limerick City
  • Tailor of Blue, 11 Bedford Row, Limerick City
  • Virgo Ladies Fashion, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick

The highly personalised app offers fashion lovers a streamlined experience to explore, shop and share products from independent retailers in Ireland and, in time, globally. There are currently over 440 Irish retailers on Bezzu with more than 8,000 products available to purchase, with more being added to the platform daily.

Users can also avail of a virtual stylist to customize their shopping experience, while the more the app is used to make purchases, the more accurate it becomes at recommending the perfect pieces to complement a user’s style.

Supporting the local economy

Lauren Murphy, Bezzu Senior Communications Manager said: “Bezzu’s mission is to help small independent retailers to compete with online fast fashion giants, and deliver a positive impact within their local communities.

"For every €100 spent in a local store, €68 goes back to the local economy, but buying from international online-only behemoths gives almost nothing back to communities. It’s the local shops that keep our streets and communities alive and we want to help them thrive."

Murphy added that, under the circumstances, it will take longer than normal for customers to receive their purchases, but hopes that this won't deter people from supporting their local retailers.

Bezzu is available in the Play Store for Android or Apple Store for iOS.
