On March 1, 2018 prior to the red alert for Storm Emma, the 19 year old Jack O'Driscoll was out in the snow with friends in Mayfield. He was left paralysed after Storm Emma when he was injured, and became paralysed from the chest down.

His family have set him up a Go Fund Me page in the hopes to raise €200,000 for Jack given his new medical and living needs.
