With the hot weather not going away for what could be another two weeks and the news breaking that we could be facing a vegetable crisis very soon, as a result, this also brings the news that there could be a crisp crisis!

Yes, just like how we had a bread shortage during the cold snap back in March the heatwave could bring a crisp shortage.

The co-founder of Pipers Crisps, Alex Albone, told The Sunday Times: "There is a danger we will have a crisp crisis."

Speaking to The Sunday Times, potato farmer Andrew Francis from Norfolk stated: "We weren't able to get on the fields for a three-week period in spring. That is just unheard of."

Potatoes can stop growing if the temperature exceeds 25 degrees, and right now some parts of the country are hitting around 30 degrees.
