Is there anything better than a clear road and loud music?

 Tullan Strand, Bundoran, Co Donegal.

If you want to kick of your road trip adventure with some fresh air and endless entertainment, we can’t recommend going surfing enough. Tullan strand is perfect for both experienced and beginner surfers.

Epic waves and easy paddle out conditions make this beach one of the best destinations for your road trip. Don’t forget, surfing is hungry work so hit up the Salty Dog restaurant for a post-surf feed.

Hook Peninsula, Co.Wexford

The Hook Peninsula is located at the very bottom of Wexford. Apart from the seriously impressive views, this is one of the best spots for snorkelling. Solomon’s Hole is the ultimate hidden gem for the perfect underwater adventure.  Oh, and don’t forget to ‘gram the world’s oldest lighthouse which sits on top of the hook!

Antrim, the Home of Game of Thrones.

Snorkelling and surfing may not be top of everyone’s road trip list, but you can still take in epic coastal roads and craggy castles that act as the backdrop for the Seven Kingdoms of Game of Thrones. Just 40 minutes from Belfast, you can explore over 20 key Game of Thrones hotspots like the Old Castle Ward, Winterfell Castle and the Demesne.

Body & Soul and ATN

Possibly the best road trip you and your mates can take is to a festival. Body & Soul and All Together Now are small, but perfectly formed summer festivals to check out. All Together Now is set up in Portlaw Co.Waterford and is ideal for any Electric Picnickers that are ready for something new. If you don’t get your fill of DJ sets and comedy shows there, you can head to Body & Soul in Westmeath and celebrate the summer solstice in style.

Sleep under the stars in Fermanagh

No road trip is complete without some camping. Too fearful of the weather to camp? No worries - you can “glamp” in the seriously cool Finn Lough Bubble Domes. The bubble domes are circular, transparent, outdoor rooms. Each dome is fully kitted out just like a hotel, with comfy beds and snazzy bathrooms. At night time, you can look out at the natural surroundings for some star gazing. Keep an eye out for special deals that won’t break the bank and make sure you get A LOT of pictures.. the Instagram envy will be real!
