For the first time, over 300 players from inclusive rugby clubs across Ireland will be taking the pitch together — and it’s happening at The Lynch Cup 2025, proudly presented by Sarsfields Rugby!
This historic tournament takes place on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Tom Clifford Park, Young Munster RFC, Limerick, marking a landmark celebration of inclusive rugby and community spirit.
The Lynch Cup honours the legacy of Sarah Lynch, a beloved Sarsfields teammate who passed away in December 2023. Sarah’s passion for creating a welcoming, empowering space for all continues to inspire this event—bringing together both tag and full-contact inclusive teams from across the country.
“The Lynch Cup is an absolute privilege for us to host. Sarah was such an important part of everyone's life in Sarsfields, and we are delighted to be able to commemorate her in this way,” said Gearóid Folan, President of Sarsfields Rugby. “Limerick is often called the home of rugby, so it's only right that a tournament like this is held in Limerick, a city so ingrained in rugby culture and history.”
“We are also delighted with all the support provided to us by the IRFU, SPIN South West, and Young Munster RFC. Their backing makes this event possible, and we are truly grateful.”
The event will also raise vital funds for GOSHH, continuing Sarah’s legacy of inclusion, education, and support for the LGBTQI+ community.
Spectators are free to attend.
