Theatre fans, get your 2026 diaries ready! The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre just dropped its absolutely spectacular new season, and honestly, we don't know how we're going to fit it all in.
At a glittering launch event, hosts Stephen Faloon (General Manager) and Claire Whelan (Head of PR) unveiled nine brand-new productions set to join an already blockbuster lineup. The vibe? Pure excitement.
As Stephen Faloon put it, the new season is all about "the very best of live performance."
"From global smash-hit musicals and bold new productions making their Irish debuts, to extraordinary dance, drama and unforgettable one-night-only events, this is a season designed with our audiences at its heart. We look forward to welcoming new and returning visitors to share the joy, excitement and connection that only live theatre can offer."

🎄 The Big Christmas Show: Mrs. Doubtfire
Hellooooo! This is the one we're already counting down to. The heartwarming and hilarious hit MRS. DOUBTFIRE is making its Irish premiere for Christmas 2026 (02 Dec 2026 – 03 Jan 2027). Based on the beloved Robin Williams film, this is one for the entire family.
💖 The Hottest Irish Premieres
Get ready for two massive Irish debuts:
- MEAN GIRLS (25 Aug – 05 Sep 2026): That's right, the smash-hit musical from Tina Fey is finally coming to Dublin. Get in, loser, we're going to the theatre. It's going to be so fetch.
- THE BALLAD OF JOHNNY AND JUNE (31 March – 11 April 2026): This brand-new musical celebrates the legendary, fiery love story of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash.
😂 Comedy, Drama & Dance... Oh My!

- LEGALLY BLONDE (07 – 18 July 2026): Omigod you guys! The ultimate feel-good, girl-power musical is back, starring Amber Davies as Elle Woods.

- THE LAST LAUGH (21 – 25 July 2026): A dose of brilliant British comedy.
- THE TALENTED MR. RIPLEY (10 – 14 March 2026): For those who love a dark, gripping psychological thriller.
- SWAN LAKE (18 – 23 Aug 2026): Chile's acclaimed BALLET DE SANTIAGO brings this timeless classic to life.
- LES BALLETS TROCKADERO DE MONTE CARLO (30 April & 01 May 2026): The "Trocks" are back! The hilarious, technically brilliant all-male ballet company returns in partnership with Dublin Dance Festival.
