Last night, the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards took place.
It was a great success for Irish talent at the ceremony, as there was two Irish wins on the night.
Saoirse Ronan picked up her first Golden Globe. She won Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her role in Lady Bird. Her mother watched Saoirse accept the award on Facetime.

Highlight of the night was Oprah Winfrey.
Oprah became the first black woman to received the Cecil B DeMille Award for outstanding contribution.
During her speech, Oprah revealed she wanted to 'express gratitude to all the women who have endured years of abuse and assault because they, like my mother, had children to feed, and bills to pay and dreams to pursue.'
She added that she had been 'inspired' by 'all the women who have felt strong enough and empowered enough to speak up and share their personal stories.'
Oprah urged women worldwide to believe that 'a new day is on the horizon.'
