Singer And Actor Meat Loaf Has Died Aged 74

Meat Loaf, whose music career spanned six decades, has died.

The singer, whose real name was Michael Lee Aday, passed away with his wife Deborah by his side according to a statement on his Facebook page.

The performer has sold some 100 million albums worldwide.

He had a career which spanned over six decades, and included the hits Bat Out Of Hell, Dead Ringer and I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Wont Do That).

Bat Out Of Hell remains one of the top 10 selling albums of all time.

He was also known for his acting talents, most notably being cast in the original 1975 movie The Rocky Horror Picture Show, as well as Fight Club and Wayne's World.

"We know how much he meant to so many of you,' said his family in a statement.

"...and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man."
