Bird Broaches And Cowboy Hats: Stars Dazzle At US Presidential Inauguration

From popstars to former First Ladies, the fashion stakes were high at this afternoon's US Presidential Inauguration.

Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the United States on the steps of Capitol Hill today.

Kamala Harris was sworn in as the first female, first black, and first South Asian vice president.

Lady Gaga was the first of the stars to take to the podium as part of the ceremony.

Wearing a navy and blue ball gown the songstress held a gold microphone to match her gold bird broach.

Shortly after, fellow popstar Jennifer Lopez made her presence known wearing a spotless white coat and diamond accessories.

 

The Latina singer spoke in Spanish while addressed the small crowd, even referencing her famous song "Let's Get Loud" at the end.

Meanwhile, country singer Garth Brooks went for a more understated outfit - opting for a black suit and a classic cowboy hat.

The "Friends In Low Places" singer performed "Amazing Grace" acapella.

He invited guests and people at home to join him "in unity" to sing the final verse of the popular hymn.

First Ladies' Fashion Praised By Viewers

Meanwhile many viewers have taken to Twitter to praise the fashion of the ladies in the gallery.

New First Lady Dr Jill Biden donned an ocean blue coat and dress combo with matching facemask and gloves.

Others were blown away at the First Lady's perfect blow dry.

Meanwhile, former First Lady Michelle Obama was also praised for her bouncy style.

Mrs Obama wore a long burgundy coat with matching flared pants and belt, which Twitter users couldn't get enough of.

Just 1,000 people were given the chance to see the fashion, and history, happen in person due to public health guidelines in the States.
