Zac Efron aka King of the Wildcats, First of His Name, greatest showman in The Greatest Showman and bona fide heartthrob since the early 2000s, has been ruffling a few feathers after unveiling a picture of himself sporting dreadlocks.

He uploaded the pic to his Instagram, and immediately started getting attention for all the wrong reasons as he's being accused of 'cultural appropriation.'

Zac captioned the pic by simply adding: "Just for fun," but his fans are finding it less than funny.

One commented on the post saying: "it's not wether [sic] or not he's TRYING to offend anybody it's the fact that he is by having [dreads]."

Another person added: "it's not stupid to be offended by stuff you should be offended by.

"I'm not gonna sit here and not say anything because he's famous."

Another added: "I don't get how some of u white ppl [sic] are commenting this isn't offensive or racist like how on earth would u know if you not part of the culture?

"I'm not saying it is offensive but you don't have a right to tell ppl [sic] part of this culture 'that's not offensive' if he wanna wear this style then let him but I'd ease of the caption just for fun."

Fans were quick to defend the Hollywood star though, with one Instagrammer writing: "it's just a haircut! How is it affecting you or your lifestyle? It's great that he promotes it. I love it."

It's not the first time a celebrity has come under fire for a controversial hairstyle decision and it won't be the last.

Just for fun 🤘
