Around 100 water supplies remain at risk around the country, as overnight restrictions come into force in parts of Dublin and Wicklow tonight. The lowered pressure will be in place from 10 pm to 5 am.
Tap water could be reduced to a trickle in affected areas, with the measures expected to last a week.
Irish Water's Kate Gannon says there is no immediate plans to increase restrictions, adding that the utility will monitor the situation:
"Once the pressure reductions are in place tonight, we're going to analyse them for a week to determine what savings have been made."
