Shopping for jeans is always a challenge; everywhere sells them but it's SUCH a personal purchase. The right pair of jeans will lift you where you want to be lifted, and hold you in all the right places. The most important aspect of all, as far as jeans are concerned - I think you'll all agree - is the bum. If it ticks the bum box, you've got a winner. But you also need to be mindful of jeans that sag at the knees. Having trialled and tested countless high street options, I've come to the conclusion that there are three leaders in affordable denim.
1. River Island
With most pairs of jeans costing around €50 here, you cannot go wrong. But there's more to love than just the price; these jeans wash incredibly well and never lose their shape. They have so many options available and from tight skinny jeans to boyfriend-style options, everything fits like a dream. If you want to embrace denim trends without a major investment - such as jeans that have plenty of rips - there's no better place to do it than River Island. The Molly option is by far the strongest.
2. Dr Denim
Formerly available in BT2, now available in BT and also on ASOS, Dr. Denim are another favourite of mine. Still delightfully affordable, these jeans wear like a second skin and they're like a hug for your bum. They have super high rise, mid-rise and low-slung options with zips on the ends and plenty of embellishments to tickle your fancy. Great bum jeans and in and around the €50 mark too. Try the Plenty style.
3. Freddy Jeans
If, however, you are all about DAT bass, look no further than Freddy Jeans; making your peach peachier since we discovered them. These jeans are like a hug for your bum and they suit all bum shapes. Even if you feel your bum is as flat as a pancake - all bums are great BTW - these jeans help to create the illusion of a full, perky butt. They're Irish too. These mid-rise light wash denim options are the business. €109.
