Anyone worth their weight in vending stalls knows Oxegen is as much about style as it is about the music.  ReachOut.com are so ahead of the festival fashion curve they’re bringing style to festival camping this year and giving you the chance to win the first four weekend tickets for Oxegen 2011 with Tipi camping!

For a chance to win you simply need to demonstrate your fashion forward sensibilities and take part in the ReachOut.com Pimp My Tent challenge taking place in the campsites at Oxegen this year.  Running from 12pm on Thursday, until 6pm on Saturday evening, fashion forward festival goers have two options on how to enter.

1. Get creative with the crayons; spray paint or diamontes and transform your tent into the ultimate festival accessory.  You could transform your base camp into a shoal of fish, stand out in the crowd by redecorating your tent to look like an igloo or a pyramid, or pay homage to your favourite act by mimicking their style!   The funkier and more fun the better.

Once pimped, donate €1 to register your tent at the ReachOut.com base camp. ReachOut.com crew will be roaming the campsites between 3-5pm on fri and sat to judge your handy-work.

2. If you don’t have time to design your own tent all is not lost.  ReachOut.com will have a team of NCAD design students on standby at base camp to bring you design ideas to life for you for a small donation of E10.

All proceeds will go to ReachOut.com, the online youth mental health service that helps young people get through tough times. Elaine Geraghty, CEO said “we were delighted that Oxegen invited us to join forces with them to for some festival fun, as mental health is as much part of the good times as it is when you’re feeling down”.

HEADLINE THE VODAFONE STAGE

OXEGEN’s second stage is now officially the Vodafone Stage, as Ireland’s leading total communications provider is confirmed as sponsor.

The Vodafone Stage boasts a diverse array of talent across an eclectic range of genres. Headliners The Prodigy, The Black Eyed Peas and Fatboy Slim should ensure that it’ll be one of the busiest stages of the weekend.  Vodafone also hopes to make the festival experience even better for fans this year with some useful additions around the Vodafone Stage such as the Vodafone Tent where you can charge up your phone for free and avail of great Top Up offers, giveaways and all sorts of creature comforts.

Dance behemoths The Prodigy put on a fearsome performance when they were last at the festival in 08.  They play OXEGEN in advance of their sell-out show at the 60k capacity Milton Keynes Bowl – their biggest ever solo concert.  Recent release ‘Invaders Must Die’ is their most complete album yet and fans can look forward to an awesome set full of their greatest hits like, ‘Breathe’, ‘Firestarter’ and ‘Warrior Dance’ when they headline on Sunday.

The unstoppable hip-hop juggernaut that is The Black Eyed Peas will close the stage on Saturday night.  Their three No.1 singles, Boom Boom Pow, I Gotta Feeling, and Meet Me Halfway made history in 2009 with the longest ever successive stay at the top of the US Billboard Chart with 20 weeks at Number 1.

Friday sees a true icon of dance music headline the Vodafone Stage – Fatboy Slim!  A pioneer of big beat, Fatboy Slim’s 1998 album You’ve Come A Long Way Baby is a classic of the genre and features the massive tunes ‘The Rockafeller Skank’, ‘Right Here, Right Now’ and ‘Praise You’.  Most recently, he’s collaborated with David Byrne on concept album ‘Here Lies Love’ which features Santigold and Martha Wainwright and was released last April.

Responsible for some of the most seminal dance tracks of all time including ‘At The River’, ‘Superstylin’ and ‘I See You Baby’, Groove Armada are back at OXEGEN on Friday following the release of their sixth studio album ‘Black Light’.

Plan B has been dominating the airwaves in recent weeks with the smash hit single “She Said” hitting No.2 in the Irish charts. His album “The Defamation of Strickland Banks” has also been lodged at No.1 in the UK album charts.  Also appearing on Friday are indie-pop chart toppers Scouting For Girls and home-grown heroes Republic Of Loose and Fox Avenue.  Hip hop fans will be thrilled to hear that Drake is now confirmed for OXEGEN.  He’s already had three No.1s in the US, including the smash-hit ‘Forever’ with Kanye West, Lil Wayne and OXEGEN headliner Eminem.

Back at OXEGEN after a great performance last year, Doves are touring their ‘Best Of’ collection The Places Between so Saturday’s slot on the Vodafone Stage should be packed with their biggest hits. Joining them on Saturday are Editors.  The Back Room and An End Has A Start established them as one of the decade’s best bands- both albums went to No.1. Their brand of dark indie rock reached new heights on In This Light and on This Evening.

Saturday’s line up is completed by indie favs The Cribs, hard edged rockers Rise Against, up and coming stars Kids In Glass Houses and one of this year’s most hotly tipped new bands – Two Door Cinema Club whose new single Something Good Can Work features on Vodafone’s Broadband in a Box ad which aired for the first time yesterday.

Multi platinum selling rock band 30 Seconds To Mars will grace the Vodafone stage just before The Prodigy on Sunday.  Fronted by brothers Jared and Shannon Leto, the band’s third record This Is War was hailed as one of the best releases of 2009 and it featured their epic anthem ‘Kings and Queens’.

The Temper Trap’s hypnotic single ‘Sweet Disposition’ was one of the soundtracks of last summer and peaked at No. 8 in the Irish charts.

Confessional folk-pop craftsmen Joshua Radin and a trio of newly announced hip hop stars complete Sunday’s line-up.  Professor Green is the UK’s brightest new rap talent with his single ‘I Need You Tonight’ entering the charts at No.3.  New Orleans duo The Knux have been called ‘The Nirvana of Rap’ for their game changing take on the genre while Eminem’s long term collaborators D12 will get the Vodafone Stage jumping on Sunday.
