Paul Galvin has failed in his attempt’s to have his 8 week ban overturned.
The Kerry star was sent off after an altercation with Eoin Cadogan, during the Kingdom’s National Football League loss to Cork last month.
Cadogan was also red carded and recieved a 4 week ban.
However, because it was Galvin’s second offence within 48 weeks his ban was doubled.
His appeal to the Central Hearings Committee was unsuccessful.
And now Kerry GAA chairman Jerome Conway has expressed his anger at the refusal to overturn the ban.
‘I am very disappointed for Paul. All neutrals at the game felt that it was a harsh sending off.
‘I have no comment to make on the suggestions that officials are targeting Paul Galvin – that is for others to decide. But I would be extremely disappointed if that was the case,’ he said.
‘It is a huge blow for us ahead of the game at the weekend given the number of players who have retired, gone to Australia and the fact that we have a Munster U-21 championship game coming less than a week away.’
Kerry manager Jack O’ Connor also said he was disappointed with the outcome, but was confident that the Finuge man still had a major part to play for the countyt this summer.
