Application forms are available from local authorities or on checktheregister.ie - but must be signed by a member of the Gardai.
Michael Kerrigan, President of the Union of Students in Ireland, says a lot of people won't have a voice on May 25th unless they make today's deadline of 5pm.
We've seen from last week that 150,000 young people were not registered to vote. There was a huge voter registration drive around the country with students union's doing them around colleges in every campus in the country."
"In the last couple of weeks, we've seen 27,000 directly registered by the USI and students unions, but there's still a significant number of people who are not registered."
