22 people were killed & hundreds injured when a bomb went off at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester this time last year.

To mark the first anniversary and remember lives lost, there will be a communal singalong and a projection of song lyrics are among the events that will mark the first anniversary of the Manchester Arena attack.

Manchester City Council leader Sir Richard Leese said it was "only fitting" for music to mark the date.

A civic memorial service has previously been announced.

The Manchester Together - With One Voice event will take place on Tuesday 22 May and will bring together choirs from the city and beyond.

“The event is open to anyone who wants to come together, with one voice, for a mass-singalong in a united act of remembrance. Supported by choirs from across the region, we’ll have a selection of songs that evoke pride and solidarity.“

As well as the singalong, the city is organising another event from 22-26th May called Manchester Together – There Is A Light, where song lyrics will be projected onto the pavements and buildings in the city’s St Ann’s Square.
