Kygo used his Coachella set at the weekend to pay an emotional tribute to Avicii, who died on Friday at the age of 28.
Closing out his set, Kygo said that the Swedish DJ and producer was a "true musical genius" who was his "his biggest inspiration".
"He was the reason why I started making electronic music", Kygo said to cheers from the crowd.
Talking about the legacy Avicii will leave, he said "I know he's inspired millions of other producers out there".
Kygo then decided to end the set with his favourite Avicii song, "Without You", with a photo of him coming up on the stage screens.
After news of Avicii's death broke on Friday, Kygo was just one of the artists from the music world to lead the tributes.
In an Instagram post, he said "thank you for all the joy you brought to the world with your music. RIP Avicii".
