A new global report on road safety has ranked Ireland the 10th safest out of 27 countries.
The OECD report says the number of road deaths here dropped by nearly a third since 2005, making Ireland the 5th most improved country in the world.

There are now six road deaths here on average per 100 thousand of the population.
Iceland topped the safety table, while Greece came in last.
