A former prison officer caught ‘red handed’ attempting to smuggle drugs, mobile phones, alcohol, knives and razorblades into Limerick prison has been jailed for seven years with the final two years suspended.
52-year-old Thomas Corry from Aughrim, Scarriff in Clare pleaded guilty to four counts under the misuse of drugs act and admitted the drugs and other items were for inmates.
