MGMT have claimed that their upcoming second album Congratulations was partly inspired by Lady GaGa and Kanye West.
The group, who are sceduled to release the new record in early Spring, revealed that some of the tracks are written about their experience of being in the limelight and celebrating their early success.
Andrew VanWyngarden said: “We were a group of guys in their mid-20s touring around the world and of course we are going to party. But after a while we all learned that you can’t just keep doing that over and over, and the new record addresses those issues.”
