The creator of Game of Thrones, George R.R. Martin, could have another hit on his hands if the pilot for his 1980 novella Nightflyers takes off.
Filming is due to begin in Limerick’s Troy Studio in the next few weeks.
The sci-fi novella is set in a future when earth is about to be destroyed. The Nightflyer spaceship tries to contact an alien spacecraft that might be able to save earth.
Thirty years ago it was made into a film but the channel Syfy is hoping for bigger success with the TV series pilot. If it is picked up and becomes as successful as Game of Thrones this could be great news for Limerick too!
