The Leaving Cert begins across the country this morning and it can be a really stressful time. Ed and Meghann have got a few exam tips of their own to share with you...
Meghann says don't forget to eat!
Make sure to eat a good nutritious breakfast every morning. This is fuel to keep you going through the exam. There is nothing more distracting than hunger pains and that's the last thing you need.
Hydrate: Always have a bottle of water with you during the exam. It will keep you hydrated especially during this warm weather spell and it can help keep you calm. Just taking a few sips can bring down any feelings of anxiety.
Breath: Take deep breaths as and when you need them. Try to enter the exam hall feeling relaxed. If your breath is intensifying just give yourself a few moments to pause and regulate your breathing.
Ed says stay calm and don't compare yourself to your classmates on the day!
During the exam, some people finish really early and you start thinking "should I leave now?". All I'd say is take your time and don't rush it.
Everyone handles the day differently and you should handle it the best way you see fit. I remember when I did it some people were freaking out around me, others were really chilled out about the exam.
Ultimately after all the stress, everyone did fantastically!
