Ed Sheeran's Cork gig could be in danger of not going ahead following a disagreement over funding.

The disagreement between Cork City Council and the GAA.

According to the Irish Examiner, Terry Shannon, Fianna Fáil councillor says that Cork's County Board have yet to pay for the upgrade for public lighting:

"They haven’t paid up. It’s as simple as that, and it was one of the conditions of their planning.

They need to get the finger out and get on with it, especially with the Ed Sheeran concerts coming down the tracks."

The GAA tried to pay part of the fee for the completion, but Cork City Council demanded a significantly higher amount.

The lighting that is needed allows for a safe exit for pedestrians from the stadium after the gig.

Bob Ryan, Stadium manager said;

"We hired 13 mobile lighting towers for the various approach roads at the weekend. We did the best we could. I would hope that we can resolve the issue in the coming weeks."
