Akon says that he’s thinking of retirement because of Lady GaGa.
The R&B singer, who signed Gaga to his KonLive label in 2007, admitted that her subsequent success has left him financially set for life.
And Akon recalls how he first signed the ‘Bad Romance’ star – “I was like, ‘Yo, I want to sign that right there. She needs to be under my umbrella’. And she just blossomed into a super megastar”.
“She’s pretty much retired me. She was definitely blessing. She came at the right moment. I’m glad I believed in her. That goes to show you, if you believe in something strong enough, it will pay off.”
