Ireland Mauled By The All Blacks
Ireland have suffered yet another defeat at the hands of the All Blacks.
New Zealand scored a record points total against Ireland in a crushing 66-28 win at the Yarrow Stadium in New Plymouth this morning.
Declan Kidney’s men scored four tries, all coming in the second half, through Dan Touhy, Brian O’ Driscoll, Tommy Bowe and Gordon D’ Arcy.
However, the All Blacks ran in nine tries in total.
Ben Franks, Kieran Read and Neemia Tialata all crossed, while Jimmy Cowan, Conrad Smith and Simon Whitelock all grabbed two each.
Dan Carter added seven conversions and a penalty, which helped him pass the 1,000 points mark in test rugby.
Ireland’s cause wasn’t helped by Jamie Heaslip’s red card in the 16th minute for a deliberate knee to the head.
Ronan O’ Gara was also sin binned in the first half.
